I'd like to highlight some of the features MobileIron has developed to improve the classroom experience for educational institutions. Over the past year, Apple has introduced some revolutionary new tools that transform the learning experience as part of their iPad in Education program. Classes can be taught entirely from an iPad, with an instructor delivering an immersive experience using Apple’s Classroom app. Teachers can, among other things, push content and websites to student iPads and view, lock, or temporarily mute a student’s device. When iPads are deployed using MobileIron Core or Cloud, they can be automatically enrolled using Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP) and receive all of the necessary configurations for delivering the ultimate classroom experience.
Apple has also created a cloud service called Apple School Manager to help IT staff manage iPad deployments. Apple School Manager enables educational institutions to sync important information like class rosters, students, teachers, and locations from a School Information System (SIS). School staff can also create Managed Apple IDs on behalf of students to simplify the initial setup process on an iPad.
